Teaching Morals To Children

Teaching morals to children is the main duty of the parents. If one parent is always out, then the sole parent takes the whole responsibility. If both parents are so busy and/or gone or away, guardians (grandparents, older siblings, other family relatives, adoptive parents, close family friends or helpers/nannies) take over.
Away from the home, teachers (schools), the church, or NGO's can volunteer to help and teach the kids good manners and right conduct. It is very important. The results of this endeavour will affect the communities, and then nations, and then the world.
Children have to learn that morality is as important as life itself. These beliefs (ethics or ideologies) must be rooted steadfastly in the life of the child, making sure the child will grow up healthy in all aspects of his/her life, accomplish a goal, and be happy. In the end, the child becomes to be the core adult building the next tribes.
The lesson is simple: Teach by example and remind children the importance of charity and faith in God. Remember the golden rule "Do to others what you want others to do to you," or "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you."
You can remember the ten commandments of God in the Holy Bible, or just the summary of it in the first two commandments.
First Commandment: Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
Second Commandment: Love your neighbour as you love yourself.
Teach the virtues about life, like honesty, kindness, hard work and patience, among others.
Teach the seven capital sins like gluttony (selfishness), sloth (laziness), or pride.
Teach how to reach a goal, their dreams without damaging a neighbour or hurting anyone. Be considerate of other people.
In the process of teaching these, and showing how - parents, guardians and teachers will need more patience, some sacrifice, and more love. Everything will not be easy, because the parent or teacher must be grounded firmly in what he/she shares.
But then, if you forget all the methods or procedures check inside your heart, how to admonish them, discipline them rigidly, forgive and love. You will need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern things and give not just the knowledge from the books, but also wisdom and common sense.
Pray earnestly that the children will learn life and live life fruitfully while they grow up and become adults.
Remember from the Holy Bible:
1. All things work out together for good for those who love God and obey His laws.
2. The Lord is our strength.
3. Live one day at a time, God will take care of your tomorrow, too.
I have come to memorize these while I led my family, my students, and my community.
Teach them the universal prayer: The Our Father
Then set them free, let them love with respect, let them have tasks, let them pray, let them play and be happy!
God will take care of the rest. rosalinda flores martinez, ezine articles.com
