Internet Games

What a beautiful life God gives to man!
Way back, we had fun playing on fields, dipping in water and having indoor games. Then we got new technology and games on machines. Some of us played Sega, Nintendo and on other family computers.
We took turns on the various machines and soon downloaded programs and Carmen San Diego on our desktops. We had word scrabble, chess game and fed pocket monsters. Presently, in this busy world whether science or fiction, our computers and the World Wide Web offer everyone a time for fun.
A sample game online is the mega-hit Temple Run. You have stolen a cursed idol from the temple so you have to run for your life. Swipe to turn, jump and run. Run for your life!
According to Slide to Play.com "In every treasure hunting adventure movie there's one scene in which the plucky hero finally gets his hands on the treasure but then has to navigate a maze of booby traps in order to get out alive. Temple run is this scene and nothing else."
Kids love Temple Run. My two-year old grandson loves this game. Marco Borja at this toddler age scores one hundred ninety thousand, one hundred forty thousand or eighty thousand points. He understands how to swipe the tablet, and he gets challenged. In fact, he plays better than me.
The Minion Rush from Despicable Me is also exciting and funny. Marco calls the minions Baba. He studies minion features, especially when characters change appearances. The taco hat amazes, while he imitates the minion eating chips. Modern graphic makes the game real for kids.
Moreover, kids love magic bananas and abundant colored fruits falling on the screen in Fruit Ninja. The game is good as an identification game, too. What is this? What is that?
In all these, playing time must be scheduled like any other recreation. Long periods of play are not recommended for children. Even in this age of high technology, balance must be considered.
"There's the monster," I said.
"Jump into the jungle. Don't burn into the fire! Run for your life!"
The two-year old keeps on playing his adventure until the hero crashes. Marco taps the table hard. Game over!
Indeed, technology fills us with surprises. Our more daring selves are expressed in countless, creative ways playing games on the internet. The reflexes of the future generation come with zeal for these developments.

TRINITARIAN DAILY OFFERING

of    St. John Paul  II

God, our Father, I offer you my day.

I offer you my prayers, thoughts, words, actions and suffering in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who continues to offer himself in the Eucharist for the salvation of the world.

May the Holy Spirit, who guided Jesus, be my guide and my strength today so that I may witness to your love.

With Mary, the mother of our Lord and of the Church, I pray especially for the intentions of the Holy Father for this month.

I also offer the intentions of all my relatives , friends, and my personal intentions today.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
