TEACHING MORALS TO CHILDREN

Teaching morals to children is the main duty of the parents. If one parent is always out, then the sole parent takes the whole responsibility. If both parents are so busy and/or gone or away, guardians (grandparents, older siblings, other family relatives, adoptive parents, close family friends or helpers/nannies) take over.

Away from the home, teachers (schools), the church, or NGO's can volunteer to help and teach the kids good manners and right conduct. It is very important. The results of this endeavour will affect the communities, and then nations, and then the world.

Children have to learn that morality is as important as life itself. These beliefs (ethics or ideologies) must be rooted steadfastly in the life of the child, making sure the child will grow up healthy in all aspects of his/her life, accomplish a goal, and be happy. In the end, the child becomes to be the core adult building the next tribes.

The lesson is simple: Teach by example and remind children the importance of charity and faith in God. Remember the golden rule "Do to others what you want others to do to you," or "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you."

You can remember the ten commandments of God in the Holy Bible, or just the summary of it in the first two commandments.

First Commandment: Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Second Commandment: Love your neighbour as you love yourself.

Teach the virtues about life, like honesty, kindness, hard work and patience, among others.

Teach the seven capital sins like gluttony (selfishness), sloth (laziness), or pride.

Teach how to reach a goal, their dreams without damaging a neighbour or hurting anyone. Be considerate of other people.

In the process of teaching these, and showing how - parents, guardians and teachers will need more patience, some sacrifice, and more love. Everything will not be easy, because the parent or teacher must be grounded firmly in what he/she shares.

But then, if you forget all the methods or procedures check inside your heart, how to admonish them, discipline them rigidly, forgive and love. You will need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern things and give not just the knowledge from the books, but also wisdom and common sense.

Pray earnestly that the children will learn life and live life fruitfully while they grow up and become adults.

Remember from the Holy Bible:

1. All things work out together for good for those who love God and obey His laws.
2. The Lord is our strength.
3. Live one day at a time, God will take care of your tomorrow, too.

I have come to memorize these while I led my family, my students, and my community.

Teach them the universal prayer: The Our Father

Then set them free, let them love with respect, let them have tasks, let them pray, let them play and be happy!

God will take care of the rest.

POPE BENEDICT XVI: A PRAYER

BRAIN GAMES FOR KIDS

Teachers and mothers know best with kids. Who would refute this statement? Teaching patterns for children must be easy and fun. In fact, if families got enough resources, there would be small problems. Some mothers did it well though. Early development could be enhanced in simple ways.

Board games come best to kids. Those that portray reality like "Monopoly." This old game involves buying and making decisions like, how to spend money wisely to win the game. "Scrabble" and games similar to it, improve quick thinking. With Scrabble, properly using the dictionary becomes a habit. You have to get a word and check it out, after every game.

Puzzles, chess, and simple card games (should not involve real money) make good brain exercise. Picture, Charade or "Guesstures" give the brain a photographic memory. And there's a lot more, especially the "Question and Answer" games, and even "Name that Tune."

Kids brain must be exposed to work, practice and inspiration. There are no limits, but proper rest, good food and sleep. Vitamins and nutritional supplements will help. Parents need not buy expensive stuff, but try to utilize what they can afford to educate the child even at home. A good home is a clean, simple, supporting and loving place for a child.

Material things should not be the main focus in the house but love, understanding and good goals to motivate. In fact, there are rich kids who don't like to study and there are poor kids who are eager to study. There are no tags in education. It is not even in the school or the exposure. These are just factors often considered. What matter is the good goals of the kid and the support he/she gets from the people around him/her.

"I exposed my children breaking crayons and messing coloring books. I didn't scold them when they didn't get very high grades, but just supported them to become the best of what they are, " Juvy Abecia assents. "I got them educational toys like "Lego," modern technology gadgets, and playing cards, for example."

Another mother says, "We consider the house a small classroom where we could exchange ideas about anything."

As for me, "I thought I was also a kid. I played with my kids and we all read together. We couldn't understand some issues because we tackled more than education, which is about life. I let my kids be reminded of profound thoughts in every conversation. In fact, I have learned from the kids and the students.

Now, there's a lot of brain games in the computer. Parental guidance and proper time schedules with all these games should be observed. Perhaps, twice or thrice a week, brain games and brainstorming sessions are needed by families and communities, just like how the kids learn.

ACT OF LOVE

Check this prayer.

Act of Love

My God, I love you above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

How GOD Gives Us Strength

We are all wondering how God gives us strength. Maybe we're all just too busy to discover this super power within us - when all that we can do is nothing, but call to him for help.
1. Your eyes were asking Him, "God what would I do?" Tears come out slowly and you could not utter any word. Suddenly you feel strong after you've cried, then you know what to do next.
2. Scream "GOD, my GOD," if sometimes - near open fields or seashore, or in the temple. Kneel and kiss the ground. Put all your weight into the ground. It will carry your burden and you will stand like a bull.
3. Just close your eyes. It doesn't matter who would look. The Holy Spirit would come and you will feel comforted.
4. Pray unceasingly, as often as you could. Keep your thoughts on God's love for you and others.
5. Ask and give thanks. The Lord will never abandon anyone. If the birds are precious to Him, what more of us/you who are His child. Remember that "All things work out together for good for those who love God and obey His laws. (from the Bible)"
6. Empty yourself. Know you are special in God's eyes, and no material stuff or desire in this world would pull you away from Him. God is your ONLY strength, if you have nothing to depend on, not even your wealth, the hollow ground will be full. You will be strong in Jesus!
7. Never curse anyone, but pray for your enemies. A clean heart, God will never abandon. He will rule that heart with power no one could ever explain. The power of love is very strong and without malice.
8. Ask for forgiveness, and weep for mercy. Do acts of kindness, and offer compassion, sacrifices, obedience to the will of God and do service. God will always hug you and protect you from harm. You will need nothing but His arms to cover your body and carry it to heaven when you die.
9. Believe and have big faith in Jesus Christ. God will never abandon those who call to him for help. This faith will make you an example of how God works in your life and how God takes care of you and your dreams.
10. Don't worry too much. Know that God the Almighty Father is the only one to fear... and if you love your friends and family, he will take care of them for you.
God will make you strong, because He loves you so much, and He will never fail.
